Summer Dance Experience

Bayside Youth Ballet sponsors an annual Summer Dance Experience hosted by Diggs School of Dance at their Gloucester Studio. During the week campers take classes, learn terminology, and rehearse choreography. Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet are the focus, but students also tumble and create art.

In its third year, the dance camp is one of several community outreach programs sponsored by the Ballet Company designed to bring the art of dance to the local community. Participants are required to be residents of the Middle Peninsula or Northern Neck areas of Virginia, not a current or past student of Diggs School of Dance, or a previous attendee of the camp.

As part of the Dance Teacher Training Program all classes and activities are lead by Company members of Bayside Youth Ballet and Diggs School of Dance faculty.

The week culminates with an in-studio performance showcasing the choreography learned by campers. The audience is shown different portions of a dance class as campers demonstrate what they learned during the week.

Bayside Youth Ballet, resident company of Diggs School of Dance, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
