Studio Policies

Attendance Students should be dressed and ready to begin class on time. Classes begin with stretching and warm-up so it is very important for students to be on time to reduce the risk of injury. Regular attendance is essential if the student is to progress. Students who miss frequently have a hard time keeping up and may begin to feel unsuccessful. If a class must be missed, it may be made up in an alternate class during the month in which it was missed.
Attire Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, and Ballet: Pink tights, black leotard and pink canvas or leather ballet shoes Jazz and Modern: Dress code is more liberal; however, leotards are preferred and all apparel is subject to teacher’s approval. Shirts and shorts are not to be worn over dancewear
Calendar Fall classes begin the week after Labor Day. The studio observes the same major holidays as the county school systems, i.e. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. All other holidays and school free days will not disrupt the regularly scheduled classes. If school is canceled due to weather conditions dance classes will be re-scheduled. Please call 804 694-5900 to verify cancellation of classes.
Dance Etiquette Dance is a disciplined art form and requires that students always exhibit behavior that is respectful and responsible. Students are expected to refrain from talking, give their full attention during class, and ask permission before leaving class. Hair must be off the neck and away from the face. Dancers in ballet levels II and up must have their hair in a bun. All food and gum will remain outside the studio. Please leave jewelry at home… it is distracting and catches on clothing. |
